The Marble City Music Festival is the vision of Kilkenny native, Patrick Rafter. The festival returns to both St. Canice's and St. Mary's Cathedral in Kilkenny City in May 2025.

In May 2025, Patrick Rafter conducts the Irish Doctors Orchestra performing an incredible programme of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake and wonderful film themes to include Wicked, 007, Pirates of the Caribbean and the iconic violin theme from Schindler's List. World-renowned pianist, Barry Douglas comes to Kilkenny to perform Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition and joins Patrick Rafter for the breathtaking Franck Sonata for violin and piano.

The exhilarating Irish Doctors Orchestra comes to St. Canice's Cathedral in Kilkenny City for an evening of the greatest film themes. Selections from Wicked, Schindler's List, 007 and Chicago on the programme alongside the magical Swan Lake Suite by Tchaikovsky.

The glorious St. Mary's Cathedral in Kilkenny City will be his to our magnificent recital featuring two of Ireland's most acclaimed musicians. Barry Douglas is long established as one of the greatest and most successful classical musicians to ever come out of Ireland. Barry will perform the virtuosic and ecstatic 'Pictures at an Exhibition' by Mussorgsky. Barry will be joined by renowned violinist Patrick Rafter to perform the epic Sonata in A by Cesar Franck.
